Voice of the people: Evangelicals know cancel culture

Related: B402, "...and good intentions it started with..." Briboy - Evangelicals perfected cancel culture. Now it’s coming for them.
[...]Throughout the 1980s and 1990s, church youth groups coordinated book burnings and music bonfires to purge their world of evil art. On any given night of the week, televangelists and Christian activists could be found on cable news attacking their enemies by name and blaming them for the “moral decay” of America.

Evangelicals tried their level best to smear and shame any person or organization who didn’t behave or believe appropriately in order to forcibly craft a society according to their Christian values.

[...]It also bans classroom instruction on gender identity and sexual orientation up to the 8th grade, legally reinforcing a DeSantis administration move to prohibit such lessons in all grades. Additionally, the bill strengthens the system in which people can lodge challenges against school books, another DeSantis initiative that has led to the removal of material he and his supporters argue are inappropriate for children.

Voice of the people: Evangelicals know cancel culture

Evangelical cancel culture

Evangelicals are hypocrites! They cry out against cancel culture, but where was their outcry when cancel culture madness swept through Evangelical churches years ago?

In the 1980s, leaders of the New Church Order demanded canceling the culture of the Old Church Order claiming it offended the unchurched. They pushed church political correctness under the guise of evolving cultural attitudes and increasing church membership. They declared the doctrines of holiness and righteousness were offensive and must be canceled, along with preaching against sin. The beloved doctrinal hymns? Canceled. To justify their cancellation, the New Order lied saying the old hymns were not doctrinal. The King James Bible? Canceled. Wearing our Sunday best to the Lord’s house? Canceled. Sanctity in the sanctuary? Canceled. And so forth ….

Evangelicals suppressed and were intolerant of the Old Church Order. Those who disagreed with canceling reverent and holy church culture were bullied, intimidated, shamed, silenced, or run out of the church. The Old Church culture and voice were canceled.

When cancel culture madness swept churches, where was the Evangelical outcry? Most shamefully submitted to the politically correct New Church culture. O ye hypocrites!

'60 Minutes' softballed DeSantis on vaccine distribution

I totally disagree with the Daytona Beach News-Journal's assessment in its editorial that "60 Minutes" was unfair in its vaccine reporting ["‘60 Minutes’ was unfair to DeSantis," The Ledger, April 9].

It is well known that the middle and lower class communities lagged in receiving vaccine, but it was from Gov. Ron DeSantis' own mouth that he threatened to pull vaccine from complaining areas that were shortchanged and given to others. These areas like the Republican The Villages where big photo ops were held?

It is well known that in the richest zip code in USA, Fisher Island residents were almost completely vaccinated before the rest of Dade County was just getting started. If anything "60 Minutes" softballed the partisan we have occupying the governor's office.
