thank you yes commercial real estate seems in trouble. We stayed at at a Hampton which was in what looked like a commercial park with shops and restaurants on ground floor then a portion of offfices then apartments. 2 identical building. One you could tell was maybe 1/4 occupied on ground level and only a few office and only 3 apartments. The other seems to have most of the ground occupied but office and apartments only a few.
Around here I know the commeercail is hurting except for resturants which a screaming for help.
The Hampton we stayed at had just lost its GM who quit unexpectedly from what I was tolfd by the front desk manager who also was assisting at everything from check ins to helping clean rooms.
Also hearing the same about banks so major markets could be in trouble soon Noticing car dealers seem to have lots of cars both new and used. Still see their sings saying they buy cars. 4 months ago they had very little inventory they parked the cars sideways to make the lots look full. We noticed the car lots as we drove through Iowa and IL.
Gold has dropepd. I have orders under the market, been waiting 3 weeks maybe this will be the one. I look for gold to break 2100 then 2400 yet this year.
Things getting bad in Chicago 100s of teens stormed downtown Chi and attacked tourisits damaged cars and broke windows. And now the CHi mayor elect is a MArxist and thinks the kids are just having fun. Of course the current mayor is not doing anyting either.
Could be a long hot summer. My high school which was a bording HS but closed in the mid 70's is planning an all school reunion in Chi. this summer. 5 guys from differnt years are organizing it. Our 65 is next year but I am not setting one up until I see more about what is happenng. If I do it will have ot be a river, lake or sea cruise. Cities don't look safe.
