well that's not the way it works around here. I volunteer at more than a few food banks but real groceries are not "food stamps". They are for people who are desperately in need of help and it's not easy for them to acquire a SNAP card to help with the little things that food banks don't usually have, like baby formula and fresh meat or veggies, aside from a turkey at thanksgiving. It's all canned or boxed goods, which yes, they can use for supplements but nothing can compare to real food that they can't afford..

Your idea of our system is very misguided and personally I don't worry about Canada, so I wonder why you worry so much about the USA?
