Hundreds of billions of dollars that could have been spent here in the US on domestic programs, on our own security vulnerabilities, in going after Al Qaeda, have been poured down the Iraq rathole, while the Taliban grow in strength in Afghanistan and Osama remains free.
"I wish more press would be given to the many heroic efforts as well as the hard work and risking of their lives many "ordinary" Americans have given to trying to help the people of Iraq"
Are you referring to the American contractors who have grown fat while a few clinics or schools in Iraq have been rebuilt? LOL! Amazingly yes Americans actually can see a few success stories for their tax dollars, though so few and at such a high cost that they pale in comparison to the death and mayhem that rages within the Sunni Triangle. Are you referring to the "shadow companies" and the PMC's (private military contractors) who are working in Iraq? Let's be clear: these folks are well compensated for the risks they take in that country.
