It sure is easier to not have to overcome adversities than it is to have a squared away teacher and supporter as a parent, but I think most all of us coped with the hand we were dealt and made our ways either with their help or despite them.

Some emulate their parents and many strive to do a better job than they did by consciously improving the family narratives.
