Republicans wanted to stand for something, I know here in the south, the home of southern Baptist, abortion is a rallying point. That is the real problem with Republicans.

Republicans had their birth in the Northern States, and the Southern Democrats were always southern.

But then something happened in the 1960s, Lyndon Johnson signed that Civil Rights Act, and George Wallace learned the hard way, (he was shot,) that the old southern white racist way of life was coming to an end. Then the 1970s came along, and Richard Nixon was almost impeached, but resigned instead. Both political parties went through a small transformation during the next decade.

Then Ronald Raegen came along, and in order to get himself elected he formed a coalition than included those southern Baptist, and the dream some day of getting rid of Roe vs Wade. Almost 45 years later they actually got it done. But a funny thing happened along the way, America grew up, getting an abortion just became the law of the land, and many people had that choice. Republicans took that away, and now they are learning that was fine decades ago, but in 2023 Americans do not want to be told they cannot do something.
