But still, they can't make a specific protocol only for photos taken by members and stored on their computers.

Other websites do it. FB and ND provide an icon to a post that allows one to include a photo to the post. The photo gets attached to the post and doesn't link back to a person's computer.

Nextdoor / ND is notorious for it since people constantly post photos of lost dogs, cats or pictures of lawn mowing services or deck building. lol.
