New Australian-engineered heavy rigid hydrogen fuel cell electric vehicle platform to be showcased at the 2023 Brisbane Truck Show
The hype around hydrogen trucks as a genuine ‘green’ solution is set to become reality, with Hyzon Motors set to showcase its Australian-designed heavy rigid hydrogen fuel cell electric vehicle (FCEV) platform at the 2023 Brisbane Truck Show.
The truck has been designed by Hyzon’s local engineering team as a global platform, adaptable for international markets, and with a multitude of vehicle use cases, such as garbage compactors, tilt trays and flatbed trucks.
Under a partnership agreement struck between Hyzon and the RACV in 2022, the company has established a regional HQ in the Melbourne suburb of Noble Park, which includes corporate offices, showroom, assembly warehousing, and workshop.
The partnership also includes development of a ‘green’ hydrogen refuelling depot.
Hyzon expects a number of its heavy rigid FCEVs will be on Australian roads in 2023.
“Leading the development of the heavy rigid program in Australia has allowed Hyzon Motors to tap into the rich resources of highly skilled local Australian engineering and technical knowledge to build a team, process, and product for Hyzon’s global and domestic market,” the company says.
Hyzon will showcase the heavy rigid FCEV at the South Bank Truck Festival, an outdoor truck and trailer display at Little Stanley Street and Stanley Street Plaza which will run alongside the 2023 Brisbane Truck Show.
The company will also have a presence within the show at stand 297 on the Plaza Level of the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre.
