"The sponsors said the legislation would allow the FDA to prevent tobacco advertising targeting children; prevent sale of tobacco products to minors; reduce tobacco product toxicity; and prevent misleading claims about smoking's dangers."

I'm not a smoker, but I believe in commerce and in the well being of our economy... and fortunately so does almost every Senator, Congressman, and past and present President that runs this great country of ours.

The Tobacco industry DOES prevent advertising to children. They DO prevent the sale of tobacco to minors. The HAVE reduced tobacco's toxicity. The have OWNED UP to tobacco's dangers.... and guess what!? THEY ARE STILL SELLING CIGARETTES LIKE HOT CAKES, especially overseas. This is flacid legislation that won't mean a hill of beans if it is passed (even though it won't).

Tobacco creates jobs and tax revenue for our children. They support the local and national economy. Tobbaco is a quintessential cash crop for many states. And you know what else... If we don't sell it to the world, CHINA WILL. And there you have it.
