WASHINGTON, D.C., February 1, 2023 -
Today, House Committee on Natural Resources Chairman Bruce Westerman (R-Ark.) announced the subcommittee vice chairs for the 118th Congress.

Full Committee
Vice Chairman Doug Lamborn (R-Colo.)

"I am pleased to be selected as the Vice Chairman of the House Natural Resources Committee. As a long-time member of this committee, I am excited to work on legislation that will lower energy costs for families and unlock American production capabilities all while preserving our beautiful public lands. The Biden administration's restrictive policies have empowered foreign nations by outsourcing critical minerals and energy production that we have the capacity to produce. By increasing energy and mining production, we will provide thousands of jobs across the nation, decrease our dependence on foreign nations, and lower the cost of energy and critical minerals. I am looking forward to what Republicans in the Natural Resources Committee will accomplish this Congress."

Subcommittee on Energy and Mineral Resources
Vice Chairman Wesley Hunt (R-Texas)

"I am honored to be selected as the Vice Chairman for the Subcommittee on Energy and Mineral Resources. I look forward to working closely with Chairman Westerman and my colleagues to maximize the production of reliable energy, cut permitting times, lower prices for families, and be good stewards of our environment. We have a lot of work to do!"

Subcommittee on Federal Lands
Vice Chairman John Curtis (R-Utah)

"It is an honor to return to the House Natural Resources committee under Chairman Westerman and provide oversight of our public lands and ensure that our rural counties have the economic development and resources they need to prosper. Utah is home to some of the most iconic and scenic places. Our national parks and recreation areas are an important component of Utah’s thriving economy, and I am committed to protecting and preserving our natural treasures for many generations to come."

Subcommittee on Indian and Insular Affairs
Vice Chair Jenniffer González-Colón (R-Puerto Rico)

"I’m honored to return to the House Natural Resources Committee as Vice Chair of the Indian and Insular Affairs Subcommittee. In this role, I’ll continue advocating for policies to foster economic growth and improve energy security, affordability, and reliability across the U.S. territories and American Indian, Alaska Native, and Native Hawaiian communities. I’m also committed to conducting rigorous oversight over inequities in federal laws; the responsible use of federal funds, including those for disaster recovery; and the Executive Branch’s negotiations to extend and implement the Compacts of Free Association."

Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations
Vice Chairman Mike Collins (R-Ga.)

"I am honored to be named the Vice Chair of the Oversight and Investigations subcommittee on the House Natural Resources Committee. I am excited to work with subcommittee Chair Gosar and Chairman Westerman to hold the Biden administration accountable for their federal overreach and overregulation of public lands. House Republicans will no longer allow the Biden administration to run roughshod over federal statute and I look forward to bringing Interior Secretary Deb Haaland before our subcommittee to answer for the Biden administration."

Subcommittee on Water, Wildlife and Fisheries
Vice Chairwoman Jen Kiggans (R-Va.)

"I’m honored to be named as the Vice Chair of the Subcommittee on Water, Wildlife & Fisheries. Coastal Virginians know how to be good stewards of the environment without sacrificing jobs or hurting our economy. Not only is the Chesapeake Bay watershed home to roughly 3,600 species of plants and animals, but it also provides countless economic and recreational opportunities, generating $33 billion each year. I look forward to working with my colleagues and our local partners to support common-sense solutions regardless of party that will help us ensure the health and prosperity of our treasured natural resources
