Dead wrong. In an AC system, volts X amps does not equal watts. It equals Volt-amps. Volt amps has an in phase component (watts) and an out of phase component (VARs). The out of phase component is magnetization currents. Customers are only charged for the in phase component because the watts do the work. Passive capacitor banks are easy to size and install, and in fact are widely in use where needed. This is just an attempt to warm up a warmed over hoax that's already made it's way through the OTC to sell stock.
