Maybe there's no video of him "saying" it.

He wrote it though - October 2008, right about the time I met him.

The op-ed did make a splash when he wrote it. Here he was painting a rosy picture of how what he saw would ultimately prove to be an opportunity just as everyone else was seeing the end of the world.
