You don't lose money until:
1. You sell.
I never understood this argument. Might work for illiquid investments, but certainly not for stocks. It's like if you lose 90% of your chips at a casino but say you haven't lost money till you cash them out.
Future prospects for earning it all back don't change the fact that the investment has depreciated, imo.
