It's only when so many preach that every happy coincidence as that is due to their being in touch with the universe that it presents a problem. There are groups, for example, who ask the universe for protection when they park illegally to go to a concert. Then when they are lucky to not be ticketed they create cause. They see cause where there is no evidence of it, except for their belief that their plea to the universe played a part. That psychological state isn't good for anyone. And some spiritualist churches who also convince their customers they can communicate with the dead are only doing society a profound disservice. Yet they do it. And many flock to them. It's a profitable business for some.
