Well. there's no 'Loyalty' at the Big Corporations either. All the Big Bosses in the Exec Offices are concerned about is making more profits / short term gains in stock price so that they collect their hefty 'Stock Based Comp' (the lower rungs don't get any Stock-based compensation, for obvious reasons -the big bosses want to skim off all the profits for themselves)...So, in this scenario, the lower rung never gets promoted, however hard they may work, and with puny 'pay increments' that hardly keep up with the inflation....The work conditions for middle-mgmt and below at US companies are worse than the Gulag now...I know because I worked for a Big Wall St IB till the Financial Collapse of 2008. Then they 'emptied-out' 3/4 of the massive 12-story Office building I worked in (the Bank had the whole 12-floors bldg and this was only a 'satellite' office facility)...Anyways, that year the CEO, laid us all off under the 'guise of Financial Collapse, he sold off the bank to another company and got a "Golden Parachute" Payment of $65M as his 2008 compensation... this was while the whole world was collapsing with the Credit crisis that Wall St precipitated...I came to know later that for each 1 employee 'laid-off' in each department, that department's Sr.VP received a $4000 Bonus! In my department, 18 of us were let go that year, you calculate the Math of how much the bosses made...
