Well, that market report is a bunch of malarkey. I’d use a more accurate term but my post would be deleted for profanity.

“currently the US is leading the growth of synthetic spider silk. Companies in the US are using spider silk’s strength to their advantage by partnering with government organizations and using the material in military applications, such as bulletproof vests.”

The US currently has yet to produce any commercially available synthetic spider silk. Europe and Japan are leading the growth of this material. There is no indication that bulletproof vests or any other military applications are even being contemplated. Certainly NOT bulletproof vests.

A similar market forecast predicted a huge growth of 3D tv screens. Didn’t happen.

These numbers are fiction, pure and simple.
