Exactly. The chain of ownership can be called into question, like in that cow case I shared the other day, meaning you need to prove ownership by providing evidence such as a purchase agreement and whatnot.

But:
A) the burden of proof is on the person challenging ownership at first. They have to show the court why the court should consider them the valid owner over you, and

B) the purchase agreement itself would be sufficient, you don't need actual receipts showing that the money was paid.

The purchase agreement shows that the parties agreed to the transaction, and the only person with the ability to challenge whether the transaction occurred as described is the seller. They'd need to sue you and provide evidence that you never paid them to challenge ownership, and even then you can just pay the amount owed.

If someone can't tell that a shell is a shell, can you trust anything else that they say?
