well I'm a much different person today than the stupid kid I was but It still taught me a lesson about meaningful work and how much more enjoyable it is than looking over my shoulder for the next hustle.
It took me many more years to give up alcohol though. That was the toughest thing I had to do. I still slog down a few brownies from time to time and haven't seen cocaine for a decade or so but the life was my idea of fun in the moment.
Now I'm just glad to be centered and focus on something more than myself and my addictions. I pissed away a good handful of years and a marriage with all that. All the while thinking I was the genius in the room.
