A post by Jordan Peterson about transgender actor Elliot Page that broke Twitter's "against hateful conduct" guidelines reportedly resulted in his suspension from the social media site.
Screenshots of the offending tweet from the account of the Canadian clinical psychologist have been posted online. It read: "Remember when pride was a sin? And Ellen Page just had her breasts removed by a criminal physician."
Jordan Peterson and Brand who both claim to be individuals of compassion and empathy avoided exposure of Peterson's tweet. The tweet in which Peterson calls the doctor who did the work for Elliot a "criminal."
Maybe i've missed those criminal actions and charges but haven't seen even a hint of any.
I believe that bitch of a tweet tells you more about Peterson than the Brand interview told you. And another little bit below, from the same article, also tells us more than we got from Brand. Noted also, Peterson, though he seems to be respected by many, didn't become famous because of outstanding original work in his field of supposed expertise. Apparently he's jumped on the conservative political correctness bandwagon and is yet another who has ridden that YouTube bus to fame. This bit:
Peterson rose to fame in 2016 as a result of a series of YouTube videos in which he criticized political correctness and Bill C-16, a law passed by the Canadian government that added gender identity to the list of "compelled speech" and made it mandatory to refer to someone who uses certain language. https://www.marca.com/en/lifestyle/celebrities/2022/06/30/62be1b74e2704e92438b456c.html
So Peterson and Brand are both politically driven YouTube babies. How about the Bill-C16 mentioned above. How controversial was it. Just how objectionable should it have been seen as: :
Canada’s gender identity rights Bill C-16 explained The bill sparked a national debate, but actually brought federal laws up to date with already-established provincial human rights code Nina Dragicevic P - Passed in June 2017, Bill C-16 has become part of a larger conversation surrounding gender, pronoun use, freedom of speech, and the rights of transgender and gender-diverse Canadians. What changes, exactly, are in the new law? [...] “(Bill C-16) really was just bringing the federal human rights code into accordance with what has already been protected provincially,” she says. “Most public services, most industries would have already been covered under the provincial legislation.” https://www.cbc.ca/cbcdocspov/features/canadas-gender-identity-rights-bill-c-16-explained
Umm, ok. So just more publicity-seeking grandstanding by Peterson, maybe.
On Biden and Xi: Have only heard a couple of sentences so far of what Biden said to Xi. The bit about working together was perfect.
It was Plato who said, “He, O men, is the wisest, who like Socrates, knows that his wisdom is in truth worth nothing”
