It’s not for acquiring third party ipr&d, second party ipr&d, or first party ipr&d. It’s a one off expense item. The spin off and the related ipr&d associated with that was expensed out as a one time expense.
The notion that that line item expense is for acquiring third party ipr&d is quite literally made up. Any spine or dental ipr&d that were acquired serve no use to the company anymore….again why it was expensed as a one time expense.
Reminds me of the incorrect deferred revenue recognition interpretation that meant they were going to have a huge revenue quarter lol
