Xoie is a mixed greyhound/beagle. She's not that tall but just tall enough. Probably about 4 feet on her hind legs which she likes to stand on quite often to get on the countertops, tables and easily access the door levers. Also a very good jumper. She bounces up on to the kitchen table from time to time.
She's quite intelligent, very inquisitive and knows how to open drawers, cabinets and even bifold doors too. I basically have had to "childproof" the house since her arrival.
She's also quite fast like a lightning bolt which is why when she gets free I can't catch her. I wish I had her from a pup but I didn't and Matt never really trained her so she doesn't really respond to commands. I tried her out in obedience training and all she did was embarrass me in class so I gave up spending the money to keep going. I thought she would have been an agility rockstar but my hopes were dashed. She is who she is and I'm not going to break her, so I just go with the flow. LOL I think she's part cat too, she just has a mind of her own.
She even left the professional trainers scratching their heads and I've been through 20 years of it with my last two dogs so I know what I'm doing too. They think, and I agree with them, that she just has a very high anxiety level that will never be fixed. She is incredibly timid and any loud noise sets her off. She'll just go into her crate and shake if the neighbor fires up the lawnmower and thunder or fireworks are completely out of the question. The funny part is that her bark is ear piercing and makes me want to go into the crate. If I yell a command to her out of frustration (like "OFF" the table or the counter) she'll yell right back.
She's a handful but basically a good girl and really loves other people and kids. Just super high strung so I have to keep taking her out to burn that energy.
