What would be really interesting is to see the population changes over time. Was watching a show recently about Rome and how they had over 1 million people in the city back in the days of Caesars.
The Roman Empire covered a lot of territory and eventually the Generals were just travelling around checking up on all their empire.

Buy on the way up!!! Just my opinion, of course.
