Its a company town - would you bite the hand that feeds you?
You are right about who will probably be on the jury - some white collar professional with a PHD who reads the Post, Wall Street Journal and Bloomberg every day. And guess what they have been constantly told over the last 14 years about how their boss rode to the rescue and now the evil hedge funds want to cash in. They have all heard the story, own houses and are very familiar with the GSEs - who, by the way, are based in the DC area and are, just themselves, one of the areas largest employers. Now the evil hedge funds want to hurt them.
Now folks here (as everywhere, but especially here) are busy and don't want to sit on a jury for lord knows how long. To make this worse - here we have a judge with a backlog of hundreds of insurrection cases to try. He don't want to be here either. He's BUSY with cases, far more important, to him anyway, than this one.
I have mentioned before that, given the venue and the jury pool, I am at a loss why folks think a jury trial is a net positive for the stockholders. Not saying we would lose (although we are on a role). We will see.
