Years ago a friend of mine described what he called "the inevitable slide of democracy into fascism". I think we're here now. We've experienced our own version of Hitler's Beer Hall Putsch, except this time Hitler hasn't gone to prison. We're going to pay the butcher's bill for that. It's going to be ugly.
