I'm trying to understand how brutalizing 4.5 million civilians is the appropriate response to the fact that you see them as victims.

I'm also trying to understand the taking of the arable land and consigning of the 4.5 million victims to live in your filth, when they used to have farms and villages and lives.

After all, there was no Yasser Arafat or Hamas without the occupation and the money, and power are all products of the situation you created.

Because every settlement needs room for "natural growth", Palestinians living in adjacent communities must have their land confiscated and their homes demolished. To keep the settlers' swimming pools full and their lawns green, water must be diverted from the Palestinians. For settlers to commute to work in Israel without having to see a Palestinian, a network of Israeli-only bypass roads must be built across the West Bank. Even the settlements' sewerage is channeled onto Palestinian land.

In this sense, every aspect of infrastructure associated with the settlements serves a dual purpose. Building new houses causes Palestinian overcrowding. Their water pipes cause water shortages. The bypass roads increase the distance between people. Their sewerage works force people to live next to stinking streams of filth.

This is not about corrupt militants. It's not about religion, or righteousness; it's not about anti-Semitism or the fact that Jewish people half a world away are subject to bigotry and hatred. This is about land and water and the fact that you have the power to bulldoze other peoples' lives and take theirs from them.
