VNET Founder's Privatization Offer Looks Serious -- Market Talk

0419 GMT - VNET Group founder Josh Chen's latest offer to take the Chinese data-center operator looks serious to Jefferies analysts, who think he will likely follow through. They say in a note that the founder has likely already lined up financing, adding that the move looks justified given that VNET is significantly undervalued by the U.S. market. Jefferies reckons that the offer price of US$8.20 per ADR may need to be raised, as it looks quite low compared to peers. But it doesn't expect a bidding war, given the lack of other serious, viable potential buyers. ([e-mail])
