All I can say is, I think debates are stupid. As if by that time, we don't know where the candidates stand on the issues. I find them embarrassing, Especially if the candidate just isn't a great public speaker. Someone mentioned (maybe Janice) that as soon as someone thinks about running for public office, they need to take acting lessons.

Case in point is Katie Hobbs who is running for governor of AZ and is an awful public speaker. She's going up against a truly insane person, (Kari Lake) who was a television news anchor for 20 years and a professional spokesperson. Katie wouldn't stand a chance against her in a 'debate", so she's opting out.

I don't blame her. Take the hit and move on with campaign ads that explain the difference.
