Tornado Alley (PROG)

Man, I just listened to Laguna like 10 times and listening as I type. Sunday story because music sticks in your head along with events during the music.

I liked Sabbath and still do but didn't always stay regular with any one kind of music.
The very second time I heard Laguna was around the same time at a big dance place, a 'discotech'? But played everything for dancing.

Guy was running some Sabbath for a rock/metal session and people jerking around and shit on the floor while I sit that stuff out but was making some eye contact with a cute petite girl not far away. Laguna came up and most the dance floor froze and didn't know what to do with the song. I walked right over to the lady and took her hand and took her to the center of the floor and we slow danced. People got out of our way because people didn't seem to like slow dancing.

I don't remember much else except she liked to couple dance and was excellent and I just stared at her and we got some applause when the song ended with the last move was her back bend and her long auburn hair almost touching the floor. I love that flourish. The next song was the final song of the night and the signal for bar closure was always Stairway to Heaven which we twirled into the night.

I remember this because it was the start of a three year relationship that would have gone further but we were not religiously compatible at the end. But we talked about those days a lot.

Shit happens. She was Irish Catholic and I was agnostic. I said I'd follow her into any church anytime and would convert or whatever. Guess it didn't sit well or something and we parted ways after a while.
