When I was in college I had a couple of buddies on the South side, was it bad in places, yes, it was bad in certain neighborhoods in New York, where I grew up.
In Florida I lived in West Palm Beach, it was bad in certain places, and on a Friday or Saturday night it was even worse on certain streets, but every place has bad areas on certain days.
In Chicago, downtown, Lake Shore Drive going North, and many places around Elmhurst were just fine, I loved Chicago, it is a great city. I lived in Houston back in the 1970s, it was a growing city, and many places were really bad, and I grew up in New York, near the city.
Anyone can Google crime rates and look for themselves the worst cities in America, New Orleans, St. Louis, Baltimore stand out each year, Chicago barely makes the top 10, sometimes it it much lower, near 20. But turn on Fox news, or some of our resident conservative posters, and it comes right from the republican playbook. It is like they have never traveled anywhere, or been anyplace, they just stay at their keyboards and type from the republican script.
Like that Texas asshole Abbott yesterday, surrounded by so many police to give a news conference of changing the subject to mental health. Such a stupid comment, no sane person ever goes into a Elementary school to shoot up a bunch of children with an AR-15, but it happens all of the time in America. It happens because in America we have this battle that everyone at the age of 18 needs an AR 15 so they can protect themselves, they have the right in Texas to walk down the street, no questions asked, we saw it in Wisconsin. It is fine to walk the streets, and shoot anyone and claim you were scared for your life. Hell, I am scared anytime I see an open gun when I go to grocery story here in Tennessee. But now with our new laws this year, you see it call of the time.
