No. When you see the fish in person you'll know why people are focused on the fish not the surroundings.
Breeders don't use gravel or anything else for ease of cleaning and clean water.
Due to feeding schedule the water would not be in prime shape for maximum growth also supporting disease due to bad water quality.
Adult fish are put into beautiful planted tanks if desired.
Juvies can be placed in planted tanks but growth is limited compared to bare bottom.
It all depends on your goals.
