Actually this is a plan for getting off the Russian oil machine. Did you read the article ? No one said they are full stop. It’s a plan to expedite reducing dependencies. And rather than just turning more oil and fossil fuel generation, it is a path towards more electrified solutions. Of course they can be powered by a whole slew of things (including fossil fuels still) but it sets presidence and direction for a new phase in energy generation and usage.
