A reply to both you & sox + fuagf. The article cited is more than a month old as things have changed.
From what I'm gleaning, Ukraine is looking and being encouraged to be on the offensive.

As I've mentioned the US is sending Russian made helicopters to Ukraine. I believe about half a dozen. There remains Polish flagged f16s that if required, could be sent. Nobody has said that there wasn't any Polish support/infrastructure available to Ukraine.

The goal posts have moved, and Ukraine is advancing, something that a month ago seemed ludicrous.

I am only open to the idea of f16s entering the theatre if that's what the powers that be indicate. The end
