It's not a matter of planes - it is currently a matter of government forced shutdowns due to the China (PRC) having a zero policy on covid.

Shanghai, one of the largest ports in China, is experiencing a very tough time. This also includes Suzhou and the other local territories.

Shanghai is basically shut down. The roads are closed - this is a city of 23m. Mass transportation is shut down so workers couldn't even get to work if the factories were open. Suppliers can't deliver raw material due to closures. Ferrite, capacitor, relays and other materials are impacted.

To allow workers back to work, which some regions have accepted approval, once an emplyee steps into the building they must be housed in the factory for 7 days - no leaving. The factory has to supply sleeping, food etc. This isn't easy as food is sub contracted for kitchen help to provide food - they can't enter the factory. Workers are tested every day and if 1, just one test positive, the factory goes back down for 12 days and the process starts all over.

It's a mess and it very unfortunate for many. I share this as the impact will be felt for a long time.

I lived there. I have lots of friends there. My prayers go out to them.
