It was later that same day, the adviser said, that Paris had learned that the contract was being rescinded and that a press conference was to be held during the afternoon. “It’s a curious way of going about things,” the Elysée source told Le Parisien.

Third senator labels Morrison a bully
When will the election be called?
Prime Minister Scott Morrison has been labelled a bully by Tasmanian senator Jacqui Lambie.
Politics is tough, and personal failings do not mean politicians cannot achieve much in the public interest – recall former Labor PM Bob Hawke. But things such as trustworthiness, honesty and empathy do matter to citizens, and so when Prime Minister Scott Morrison’s character is called into question, it matters not just for him, but for the Coalition.
On budget night this week, outgoing Liberal senator Concetta Fierravanti-Wells .. https://www.theage.com.au/link/follow-20170101-p5a96a , in a blistering late-night broadside, described Mr Morrison as an autocrat who is not fit to be leader, a bully with no “moral compass” and someone who uses his faith for marketing purposes.
The following day, Senator Pauline Hanson .. https://www.theage.com.au/link/follow-20170101-p5a9he .. wanted to add her own appraisal of the Prime Minister: “He is a bully and I back the senator up completely with that. He is a bully because I have experienced it myself.” Senator Jacqui Lambie .. https://www.skynews.com.au/australia-news/politics/he-is-intimidating-jacqui-lambie-backs-bully-claims-against-scott-morrison/video/3fe1fed280f53164c1ec0b59f68708dd .. also waded in: “There is many of us females here that have had to be in and sit with Scott Morrison and I can tell you what, he’s probably one of the most unpleasant men I’ve ever had to sit in front of.”
These assessments of Mr Morrison’s character join a growing list, many of them from his own side of politics. Deputy Prime Minister Barnaby Joyce once described him as “a hypocrite and a liar” in a text message sent on to Brittany Higgins a month after the former staffer’s rape claims were made public.

A private text message .. https://www.theage.com.au/link/follow-20170101-p59sxs .. exchange between former NSW premier Gladys Berejiklian and an unnamed Liberal cabinet member allegedly referred to Mr Morrison as a “complete psycho” and a “horrible, horrible person”, while former Liberal MP Julia Banks .. https://www.abc.net.au/7.30/liberal-mp-julia-banks-speaks-on-the-toxic-culture/13432590 .. described him after she left the party as “menacing, controlling wallpaper”.
And in an extraordinary attack by a Western ally, French President Emmanuel Macron .. https://www.theage.com.au/link/follow-20170101-p594sx .. branded him a liar in relation to his dealings with him over Australia’s cancellation of a $90 billion submarine contract with France.
Mr Morrison has dismissed each of these attacks. And it’s true that in politics it’s worth looking both at what is said and why. Senator Fierravanti-Wells had been dumped by the party just days before her outburst and there is no shortage of bad blood .. https://www.theage.com.au/link/follow-20170101-p5a1q5 .. over Mr Morrison’s meddling in preselecting candidates in NSW. She chose to give no public character assessment until she was leaving. Mr Joyce admitted that when he sent the offending text message he was bitter about losing the leadership of the Nationals. And Mr Macron, himself facing an election, felt humiliated over the submarine deal and perhaps in need of plaudits from the French public.

All prime ministers have, at times, been easy prey to character assassinations. They are a big target. This view was echoed by former prime minister John Howard, who said on Thursday .. https://www.theage.com.au/link/follow-20170101-p5a9d9 .. that Mr Morrison’s internal Coalition critics were consumed by personal grievances.
But the weight of the assessments cannot be brushed aside easily, especially so close to an election. Perceptions of Bill Shorten’s persona (as opposed to the “daggy dad” image Mr Morrison created for himself) are regarded as part of the reason he lost the election. And with the bullying accusations made against senior Labor figures by allies of the late senator Kimberley Kitching, Opposition Leader Anthony Albanese has his own issues to contend with.
The upcoming federal election should be a contest about ideas and policy. But it would be naive to suggest voters don’t sum up a politician’s character. At the previous election, Mr Morrison’s everyman approach was a positive for the government. It is yet to be seen whether the strong attacks on his character will damage his party this time.

BNB, that was part of the, simply just, too liberal conservative ex-leader. The spill vote was 45-40, so maybe maximum
45 for Dutton. Bishop has just now been eliminated, so that's the end of the ex-foreign minister, and deputy
leader. Any minute now we'll know if the right-wing coup worked to it's max. Gotta surely be Morrison.

LOL!! Speaking of, it looks like conservatives are gaining some power there."
P - Umm, not really except that within the Liberal coalition government itself, as they just booted Malcolm Turnbull who was considered
too liberal by our Liberals, and put in the more conservative Scott Morrison as Prime Minister. Guessing that's not what you were
thinking of, so i'd love to know just what you were referring to? Surely you didn't just make that one up too. Or did you?
