I used to do it the hard way and I had ok gardens, not I sew everything. I have places in my back yard where grass doesn't seem to grow heavily but greens, broccoli, okra and that sort of thing does very well, I buy bulk cheap seeds online and mix them up, sew them all over the back yard. You wouldn't believe the greens, radishes and things I pass out. People come down and I pass out 50 lb bags of turnips and mixed greens most of the summer. Throw all of your old , rotten or bad veggies in your flower beds late in the fall, you'll have plants everywhere. I give most of my family tomato plants, squash. You can do the same for okra. squash, cucumbers, pretty much any viney vegetable does well in a flower bed. They climb my bushes and fence lines. I'm telling you, I'm a LAZY gardener..
