Chicago-based Cresco labs, one of the largest publicly-traded cannabis companies in the U.S., announced plans to buy Columbia Care in an all-stock deal valued at about $2 billion.
The merger would create the largest cannabis retailer in the U.S. by sales, with over 180 stores across 18 markets, and projected annual sales of more than $14 billion. The deal is expected to close at the end of this year, pending regulatory approval.
