Thanks! That's excellent news! I also did a bit more digging and found this:
Tax Forms: The interest component of the distribution is U.S. source income. Therefore, to ensure that the Jeffrey Friedland Fair Fund can comply with its reporting and/or withholding obligations, U.S. persons (defined below) must complete the Substitute Form W-9 on page 9 of this Claim Form; persons who are not U.S. persons as defined below must obtain the proper IRS Form W-8 series (W-8BEN, W-8BEN-E, W-8IMY, W-8ECI, or W-8EXP). The appropriate tax form must be completed, signed, and submitted with your completed Claim Form. IRS Forms W-8BEN, W-8BEN-E, or other W-8 series forms, can be obtained from the IRS website: https://www.irs.gov/forms-instructions.
So does this mean we do NOT do the main claim form since it pertains only to US citizens, and only do those other IRS forms (I think I read they are for US aliens, which again doesn't really apply to me), or does it mean that we do that form and ignore the US tax part? I'm just a little confused because at the end they make you sign a section that says you "certify that you are a US citizen". I'm curious if they just want us to sign it and just cross that part out.....
