Nothing has changed. The price of the stock is meaningless.

Nothing has changed? Let me explain to you what just happened to your holdings. In this example, let's say a shareholder held 100,000 shares.

Your 100,000 shares at a pre split price of $0.044 is valued at ~$4400. If you anticipate the market cap of this company post successful trials and product approval is ~$20B, then pre-split and pre-dilution your theoretical 100,000 shares would be worth potentially $3.8 million at $38/share. Not too shabby.

Now we've done a reverse split which shouldn't impact market cap. HOWEVER. They've also diluted you by almost 2 million more shares. So now, assuming market cap stays the same post split as it was presplit (which theoretically is how it is supposed to happen) then your 100k shares become 500 shares. However, with the 1.8 million new shares and the market cap staying the same, the share price is now $5.10. Which means that your $4400 is now worth only $2553. And this is with all things working the way they should! They literally halved the value of your shares by doing this. Not because people sold and the stock dropped. Just because that is how much they chose to dilute you. And now, if somehow the science still works and the company becomes a $20B company like you thought (haha) your same investment is now only worth $2.2M at an astounding $4,464/share.

So yes, a lot has changed. And this won't be the last dilution they do, so your stake in the company is just going to keep on dropping.
