LOL That was one funny part of it all. Whenever a pill or an operation is on the horizon they check your consciousness by asking your name and your date of birth, and for the op also what it is you are there for. Earlier, in preparation, one dr had asked me what side i mostly slept on. I said left, so he said, ok, we'll graft from the right. On arrival in the operation theater waiting room they asked me what i was there for and i said a skin graft from the right leg to the left forearm. I must have said that some .. thinking .. five times to different people involved in the op.
Then i woke up with the graft taken from the left leg.
LOLOL i said to the dr in the ward who had asked me what side i slept on that i guessed they took it from the left because of it's closer proximity to the wound. Early on they had discussed whether or not to stop my blood thinner for the op. They even called my neurologist who had taken me off the one a day aspirin my gp had put me on and subbed in Eliquis .. https://www.webmd.com/drugs/2/drug-163073/eliquis-oral/details .. for his opinion. He said keep him on it. Surprised me as i wouldn't have thought a couple of days off it would be important. But they ran with his opinion and kept me on it. i was told possible excess bleeding during the op. was a concern.
In the end it made sense for them to graft from the closest thigh to the wound. The dr. said yes that's why they grafted from left side.
Guessing you haven't moved again quite yet. Please let me know when you do. Hope all that goes well.
It was Plato who said, “He, O men, is the wisest, who like Socrates, knows that his wisdom is in truth worth nothing”
