Yeah ... even the judge at the securities hearing kind of did the ... so there wasnt a securities ban on this guy to the AUSA ... and they responded kind of sheepishly IMO well judge ... it said he coukd not break the law ... smh ... sad thing is none of this ever should have been able to happen. They also had to explain to the jidge regarding allowing his gps to be removed that they did not want to tip off their investigation and it put them in a bad spot supposedly ... due to Covid about having to explain why his gps tracker was removed while this was going on.
Ridiculous on so many levels.
It has been 6 months since lawyer changes and it sure seems like they have done nothing. Voluminous or not ... no headway in 6 months lol ... the prosecutors basically said they will meet the defendants counsel and basically kind of point out their best evidence and try to help as well as attempt to engage in reverse proffers. Will have to see what comes out of it and as you mentioned ... if the defendants agree to participating in a reverse proffer.
Svorai is looking at 20+ years mandatory minimum fron what I could come up with on those new charges.
I don't know man ... never underestimate the power of looking at serious jailtime. I am sure a lot of criminals have talked a big game down to the wire that you would never think woukd take a deal only to sing like a canary when faced with being stuck behind bars for 20 years.
I do agree these dirtbags love their money and that will be a big kicker to overcome.
Typically the fbi doesnt want jist one or two people ... they want the whole salami. I am hoping the reverse proffers are coming from a position of strength. They gotta be bleeding them pretty good on attorney fees.
They definitely got greeey and the crackdown on getting those securities deposited prompted them to want to setup the BD where they got em for money laundering etc. Good point about the threats. Started getting real dicey there.
I am hoping for that indictment in next month or two ... but really not seeing how it would not come out before July/August some way or another. I imagine they cant sit on it forever.
Good to hear your take. The saga continues ...
