The number of HCV positive in the United States is roughly the same as it was 20 years ago, or in 2014 when Harvoni was approved.
The treatment tail is proving to be very long indeed.
Per HHS:
"2.4 million people are estimated to be living with hepatitis C in the United States. The actual number may be as high as 4.7 million or as low as 2.5 million."
Globally the incidence has dropped, yet- per WHO
"Globally, an estimated 58 million people have chronic hepatitis C virus infection, with about 1.5 million new infections occurring per year."
In the USA;
"The estimated number of annual acute HCV infections in the United States increased significantly from 11,800 in 2010 to 57,500 in 2019. The recent increases in new HCV infections have primarily resulted from the ongoing opioid epidemic and the associated injection drug use."
