Yes, the United States started a war and stole the southwest from Mexico. And as far as I can tell, people in Texas and the rest of the southwest have civil rights. Is that where you think we should be on the West bank and Gaza?
Doesn't this really exemplify the differences between tribal rule and the rest of civilized govern societies?
Was the southwest really 'stolen' from Mexico?
Was Mexico really 'governing' the southwest? Or, was it the wild west being governed by what ever 'tribes' existed in any given area?
I think rather than being stolen, the southwest was won by those who committed to governing the area in protection of all those who resided in those area's. That was not happing under Mexican rule with the exception of a couple forts along the coast in CA and south Texas.
Similarly, after Ottoman rule ended, the area as a whole was not governed in protection of all people. Now I'm not making a judgement towards 'who' the territory belongs to. It is apparent to the entire world that both Jews and Arabs have ancestral claim to the area.
The Jews govern. Even though the area is equally important to Jews, Islam, and Christian, the Arabs have sought to drive out completely anything and everything not ISLAM. Look no further than Syria, etc.
Historically these were Christian areas before the military expansion of Islam pushed them out and 'stole' their land.
Therefore, there really is no choice other than to stand with the Jewish state of Israel! In protection of ALL people.
Islamic Arabs govern in Lebanon, Syria, and Jordan. Jews govern in Israel.
Now seriously. If you are a lover of freedom, where and under whose rule would you want to reside?
