brooklyn13, Your defense of Israel took a bizarre, basically irrelevant zag, with your
"You are living on land stolen from Native Americans, you work / worked in an economy whose foundation was built, originally, on slave labor, and you are (if you're of European stock) descended from brutal colonialist nations. P - So, yeah, cue in the moral outrage against Israel."
Forget your "moral outrage" straw man there. There are any number of legit reasons for millions of people, Palestinians and otherwise, to be unhappy with Israel.
A few here which may, may or not, include one or two points you aren't aware of.
Down a couple in that stream - Palestinians denounce US's peace plan before Manama event [...] In Lebanon, where there is a large presence of Palestinian refugees, Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri came out against Kushner's plan. P - "Those who think that waving billions of dollars can lure Lebanon, which is under the weight of a suffocating economic crisis, into succumbing or bartering over its principles are mistaken," Berri said in a statement. https://investorshub.advfn.com/boards/read_msg.aspx?message_id=153612198
Agree. Is there a country today with a greater amount of illegal standing under international law than Israel? Is there another country that defines itself as belonging to one religion, one ethnic group? P - Is Judaism an ethnicity? A race? A nationality? Trump signs an order and provokes an identity crisis. https://investorshub.advfn.com/boards/read_msg.aspx?message_id=164745396
Wednesday, 11/04/15 - Shimon Peres doubts Israel can win Permanent war or Survive Annexation of West Bank [...] The big difference between Peres and Netanyahu is that Peres is a realistic Zionist. He has his eyes open about the likely consequences of the annexation of the Palestinian West Bank. The world is turning against Israel because no one likes Apartheid practices or creeping ethnic cleansing. That Israel can usurp the land without absorbing the people seems a remote possibility to Peres. P - Another point of realism is that Peres understands that the Arabs and other pro-Palestinian powers won’t be weak and supine forever. Already the Gulf states are building highly sophisticated militaries. Turkey, which under President Tayyip Erdogan is pro-Palestinian, is a member of NATO and has actually had Israel disinvited from some NATO activities. Israel’s nuclear arsenal of several hundred bombs forestalls any conventional invasion. But we increasingly live in an era of micro-wars, in the fight against which Israel has proved vulnerable. https://investorshub.advfn.com/boards/read_msg.aspx?message_id=118223699

Why Do Israel and Gaza Keep Fighting? Because It’s in Their Leaders’ Interests. [...] Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of Israel gets to batter Hamas, the militant group that controls Gaza, while bolstering his argument that the Palestinians are not ready for peace and that a two-state solution is impossible. P - Hamas, which sought and apparently received renewed assurances of a loosening of the Israeli blockade of Gaza, gets to show skeptical, impoverished Gaza residents that its strategy of armed resistance is working. https://investorshub.advfn.com/boards/read_msg.aspx?message_id=149036183
