I don't disagree with you about absolute Moral Authority, that's why we have laws. But my feeling is that we are prone to look at actual American history through rose tinted glasses.

I don't mean to be cliched, but who did we stop from enacting the Native American displacement and genocide? From what did this American Moral Authority arise?
