In August 1994 he reported to the National War College. Graduating in June of 1995 he reported to the staff of the Commander in Chief, United States Pacific Command at Camp H. M. Smith, Hawaii, where he served as Chief, SIGINT and Information Operations Branch. He reported to the Commander, Naval Security Group Command, Ft. George G. Meade, Md., in 1998 and served as the Director for Operations, Plans and Information operations. He then commanded NSA's Kunia Regional Security Operations Center and Naval Security Group Activity Kunia and reported as Vice Commander, Naval Network Warfare Command in August 2002. In October 2004 he reported as N3/N5 IO and Commander of Naval Security Group Command and in August 2005 he reported as Director for Intelligence, US Pacific Command, Camp Smith, Hawaii.

Major General Darryll D. M. Wong is the commander and chief of staff of the Hawaii Air National Guard. He commands an organization consisting of one of the largest and most diversified Air National Guard Wings with three operational flying squadrons (F-15A, KC-135R and C-17A), combat communications group, and weather flight with a total authorized strength of 2,515 personnel.
