Looking at the acquisition cost $28mm (includes cancellation of WAGZ debt), They would need to sell 112k units to breakeven.
The reviews are a mixed bag of 3 out of 5. As a current and ALWAYS dog owner, I can see how it's a good concept but not beyond a novelty purchase. I have gone through many "electronic shock collars" I NEVER USE THE SHOCK FEATURE, however you can use "NOISE" feature, you know, ding dong if they are misbehaving. Anyway, those collars last maybe a week before the dog chews it to pieces. They cost $20 range and have their own remote.
What the reviews tell me is that unless you have a high performance wifi ($300 - $1000) and why have that unless you also have a fast internet ($100 mo.), the unit simply doesn't work as advertised.
Let's assume the collar works ok for 12mo.
Unit = $250 Wifi upgrade = $500 fast internet =$1200 ($100 mo.)
$1950 vs. $2000 cost for 1 acre for electric dog fence ($4k for 4 acres).
