brooklyn13: OK, Mexico abolished slavery in 1829. As in all the south Cotton was king. There were no big cattle ranching in Texas at that time. But back to Cotton, who were the Texans selling all that Cotton to. Not Mexico but the US. Who was making money off Cotton again the US not Mexico. Do you really believe Santa Anna would have marched his army's all the way from Mexico because Texans owned a few slaves??? Not me it was like all war's, it was fought over Money!!!!
