Yeah hap called social contract, socialism, lol

Just the word social and he never went an further to realize that social contract was the basis for the declaration of independence, the constitution and what it meant concerning sacrifice for all...

When the top one percent is kept in check, the social net doesn't need to be wide....Greed is our common enemy (add nauseam) as your post points out....And our past shows that one income families were just fine till greed got in the way.....The money is there...

Socialism is a dirty word in the US....

In my arrogant opinion, greed is what we need to fight, not with each other....It caused the inequality that this new American fascism feeds on......

The right uses Socialism as a weapon, like it or not, its real and it works, that's not going away....

Don't know what all is in BBB yet....I do know what its painted as, even by CNN and the like, A massive spending bill that greatly expands the social safety net (I know there are things in it that can point us to future too...)

I will add and have saidtheere is a need for some 'social' programs, mostly health care, but if we tackled greed, wide reaching social nets are not needed......Nor are they sustainable, we still worry about the Social Security and Medicare funding running out,,,,

Right now anything deemed socialist is only going to deepen, and has deepened, the divide....

Anyhoot, no more circular discussions as DD wisely put it....To me, every political problem/discussion, can and does, circle back to greed, the 1%, in the final analysis....

(and if we ever get to fighting the 1%, just for fun, what are they going to call it,,,socialism, lol,,,,But it's a fight we just may win, not so unlike breaking up Standard Oil etc back when we fought greed on this scale last time)
