Is it really worse than in the past or do we simply have easier access to more info about what's going on?

How were things going during the Vietnam War era?
In 1974 the FBI said there were 2000 bombings in the U.S.

McVeigh, Waco, Bundy, pro-Nazi rally at Madison Square Garden (1939), the Klan, the Civil War (obviously). I just don't see that things are worse now, we just hear about them 24/7.

You are maybe looking at the past with rose colored glasses. These are the good old days and if they're not, then when were things better (seriously)?
