FI-FO,etc. Great, cintrix. This is probably not a broker thing but, rather,
tax law stuff and probably works same way for all brokerages. Here is my
problem and am probably not alone: have a good sized stock tax burden as have yet to sell most stock losses. Most stocks in my portfolio are in the RED. (I procrastinate when it comes to selling a loss).
Sometimes these old penny stocks come back- one of my better ones last year, for example, I had completely forgotten about.
One stock (KAVL) going greatly first half of year is now almost worthless (for now) and all my accumulated shares were Fi-Fo. If I could have, in hind-sight, managed Fi-Fo / Fi-Lo, tax burden would be easier to manage.
so, guess I need to sell more than I wanted to sell.
As always, when the mind gets 'fuzzy', your board saves the day.
